It sold over 30 million copies worldwide, making it the band's best-selling album and one of the best-selling metal albums of all time. The album features popular songs such as 'Enter Sandman', 'The Unforgiven', 'Sad But True', and 'Nothing Else Matters'. The songs were written by vocalist and rhythm guitarist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich. Metal Hammer and New Musical Express both included the album in their lists of the greatest albums of all time.
